Directions for use:

For furniture, the use of Boiled Linseed Oil on unfinished wood will bring out its natural beauty and increase its resistance to watermarks, scratches, and warping. Rub Boiled Linseed Oil into the surface and allow 5 to 10 minutes to penetrate  the wood. Remove excess oil by wiping with a clean, dry cloth. An excessive buildup of Boiled Linseed Oil will cause a gummy residue or blotchy finish to form on the surface of the wood. As a paint additive to oil-based paints, Boiled Linseed Oil will improve flow, lessen brush drag and increase both the gloss and durability of the dried paint. Add a small amount, following the paint manufacturer's instructions. Do not use more than the recommended amount. Boiled Linseed Oil can also be used to condition farm and garden tools and helps protect metal surfaces from rust.

FAQ's

How much area does a gallon of Crown® Boiled Linseed Oil cover?

The coverage depends on the absorbency of the surface material. On standard wood surfaces, this oil covers approximately 400 square feet (~ 7'x7'x7'). Rough, old, absorbent wood may require as much as twice the amount of oil with one gallon only covering approximately 200 square feet.
